This is a great item for traveling photographers with small cameras.

I have tried this with my DSLR with a standard 18-55mm lens and it supports it OK.
I have not yet tried it with a longer, heavier lens (like 70-300) and do have my doubts that it would stand up. But it certainly would wrap around a tree branch or a post.

What a strong piece of photographers equipment this little tripod is. It fits (almost) in my camera case. I have a Canon PowerShot SX50HS, so you know my case isn't all that large. The legs stick out of the case but that's ok with me. This tripod is so cute that when I first brought it home I quickly and easily attached my Canon to it and left it on the table for days! My Canon was ready to catch a picture of any of our grandchildren who came to visit!
